I DID find some of the software listed in the chapter intriguing though. I would like to try Standards Toolbox. I don't have a problem aligning my lessons to the standards, but it might be easier to let technology do it for me. I have my students make portfolios already so I am going to check out Carbonmade to see if it works better than the method I use now.
I actually found this assignment to be stressful. I was worried about using Google Docs because I had never used it before. Then, once I had opened it up, I realized that it was basically Microsoft Office. It really seemed more limited than Office. This did work in my favor when I was making the grade book because Excel is program in Office that I am weakest at. At first, I thought that Slides was limited because I couldn't find the template that I wanted to use. But then I realized that I could just upload my template. Another thing that stressed me is I don't like not knowing who is doing each part of an assignment or when it is going to be completed. Then I ended up logged into Google Docs at the same time as Zita and I started getting stressed again, watching things change. I had to take a deep breath and let go... And, now I like the look of my document and slide show.
