Standard 2
II. Design and develop digital age learning experiences and assessments
Teachers design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessments incorporating contemporary tools and resources to maximize content learning in context and to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes identified in the Standards.
a. Design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity
b. Develop technology-enriched learning environments that enable all students to pursue their individual curiosities and become active participants in setting their own educational goals, managing their own learning, and assessing their own progress
c. Customize and personalize learning activities to address students’ diverse learning styles, working strategies, and abilities using digital tools and resources
d. Provide students with multiple and varied formative and summative assessments aligned with content and technology standards, and use resulting data to inform learning and teaching
Reflections: This standard seems to focus on assessments. Although we use a different software for grades at my school, the gradebook in Google Docs would be a great way for parents to have quick access to their students grades. I have used both Rubristar and Easy Test Maker in my own classroom and really enjoy both. I will be continuing to use both in this upcoming school year. Easy Test Maker is great because it allows you to write almost any type of question that you want for a test without having to worry about formatting yourself. Rubristar is nice because you can customize your rubrics to include only pertinent information.

Future Learning Goal: I plan on continuing to use Rubristar and Easy Test Maker. My students tend to have a lot of papers to write for me, so I would like for them to know how I am grading them before hand. I do not plan on using the spreadsheet for my grades as the program that my school already uses was easier to use and has more functionality.
